It has been over 4 years since finishing art school and I will admit probably longer since I last seriously studied art. I recently read this article in the Times, about a new system of cateloging and recommending new art to the Tumblr generation. Just like movie or music genome projects created by Netflix and Pandora respectively, this new offering allows you to explore the world of art and find new and interesting pieces recommended to your growing tastes.
It of course will never replace the power of seeing real images in a gallery or a museum, but it might get a new generation, raised in front of a screen, interested in exploring the evolution of art.
