The Old Oak

Photograph by Jeff Powers © 2011
If there is one thing I love in Louisiana, it is the giant oak trees. With their massive stretching arms that lean into the ground to hold up their never-ending growth. Though hard to really see in this particular shot, this tree was easily ten feet in diameter, and many of the branches near its top were thicker than telephone poles and would be large trees in their own right. And this is hardly the largest I have seen.
