This is a topic rather near and dear to my heart. I have grown up travelling and seeing zoos from one end of the planet to the other. Animals are spectacular and integral things on this world. So this lengthy article appearing in the New York Times was rather interesting. It speaks of the difficult balancing act that zoos have, juggling entertainment, scientific research and conservation. A very difficult thing to do. But even more difficult questions arise from this. Check out the article and see what I mean.
