I was playing around with newly learned painting techniques, streamlining my skills sketching with digital paint., when I came up with this exercise to takes some of my favorite novels and reimagine their covers. Since the modern trend in covers is go with a more minimalist design oriented look, I thought I would play up my own strengths instead. Inspired by the cheap pulp novels of the 60s and 70s, I made these old tattered illustrated covers (from back when painted covers where king, unlike today's photographic and CG covers).
