Now for any DC fan, you would say, "sure there are plenty of Batgirls". But a recent announcement has stated that in September, my personal favorite superhero, will be emerging from the current crisis sans wheelchair. For those who don't know, Oracle, or Barbara Gordon, has been confined to a wheelchair for about 20 years in the DC comics universe. This change brings a lot of mixed feelings from me, and other fans. Depending on how it's treated, changing this one core element of the character will be huge.
Andy Khouri over at Comics Alliance wrote this fantastic article about it, and I think he really expresses the dilemma that true fans will have over this character.
